MANKIND – THE SHADOW OF THE PRODIGAL SON – (Luke 15:11-32)
The story of mankind is like that of a prince who became a prodigal son, operating his life without the approved manual, the Holy Bible. Instead of working out his God’s given gifts and purpose, he asked his father for his portion of the family’s inheritance off-front.
Then after, he left the palace and embarked on a journey to a far-away foreign land, living a carefree life and eventually wasting all his precious inheritance. After some time, his standard of living as a prince crashed, and no job except feeding the pigs on the farm. It got to the extent of eating the food meant for the pigs but even the rotten snacks could not keep him on.
One day, the prodigal son reasoned within himself and discovered the missing links that brought him to this position. He decided to go back to his father and tender his apology for his wrongful acts. He wanted to plead with his father not to accept him as his son again but as one of his servants. But on seeing his son, still, at a distance, his father ran towards him, embraced him, and welcomed him back home with a great feast – saying that his son was dead and now is alive again!
Today, your repentance will activate a similar welcome party in the Kingdom by our Lord Jesus Christ. No human being has the inbuilt ability to run and keep his own life without the grace of Salvation – a precious bailout gift from God through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a soft landing platform for man to regain his lost ground: inheritance, daily benefits, fresh nutrients, peace of mind, and being fully restored.
